To address the challenges presented by COVID-19 College Board has provided revisions to the upcoming 2021 AP Exam administration schedule to try to support staff and students in completing preparations for exams. To facilitate the complex scheduling and logistic requirements needed for successful test administrations, Fossil Ridge will be administering in person, paper and pencil exams during the weeks of May 3-17 as originally scheduled for nearly all courses. College Board has made a scheduling change to the May 13th exam schedule and has moved those exams to Monday, May 17th. AP Computer Science Principles and AP Statistics students will take their exams on that date. There will be no exams given on Thursday, May 13th.
At Fossil Ridge, there will be test date and administration adjustments for only two courses.
The AP U.S. History exam will be administered Wednesday, May 19th. This will be a “digital exam” session only and students will take their exam at home using their laptop computers at 10:00 a.m. local time with a required sign in at 9:30 a.m.
Exam dates and administration methods will be adjusted to best support FRHS students taking the AP Human Geography exam as well. These include: AP Human Geography students that have completed their coursework in March in periods 3, 5, & 7 will take their paper and pencil exam at Fossil Ridge High School on Tuesday, May 4th at 12:00 noon as scheduled. Students that will complete their Geography coursework in May in periods 2 & 4 will take their exam in a “digital format” using their laptop computers from home on Friday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. local time with a required sign in at 9:30 a.m.
Please note: All digital exams are full length and will require the AP app to be downloaded by students on their devices (Widows PC or Mac) 1-3 days prior to the exam. More information regarding these technology device preparations will be made available as it is released by College Board.
