Enrollment Processes for the 2022-2023 school year

updated: 9-28-2021

If I live in the Timnath MHS boundary which students get to stay at Fossil Ridge and which will attend Timnath MHS?

During the 2022-2023 school year all students in 11th and 12th grade will be automatically retained and allowed to stay at Fossil Ridge.  Families of our current 10th and 11th grade students do not need to do anything this school year or at any time throughout the rest of their time in PSD.

If I live in the Timnath MHS boundary and have a current 9th or 8th grade student and WANT them to attend Fossil Ridge in the 2022-2023 school year, what can I do?

Current 9th grade and 8th grade students and families who do NOT want to attend Timnath MHS and attend Fossil Ridge in 2022-2023 will need to fill out a School Choice application, even if they were accepted to FRHS through School Choice for the 2021 - 22 school year. Once a student is accepted through the school choice process for the 2022-2023 school year they do NOT need to reapply.

When does the School Choice application window open and close?

The School Choice application window opens at 8 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 and closes at Noon on Friday, January 21, 2022.

When will I know if my student is accepted through the School Choice process?

Invitations will begin to be extended after the first considerations School Choice deadline (January 21) based on enrollment numbers and space available.

How likely is it that my student will receive an invitation to enroll and acceptance through the School Choice process?

Very likely!  Unlike prior years we have been planning for this opening of Timnath MHS.  At this point we have not been given a limit on student enrollment caps and do not anticipate a major change between now and January 21st.  Fossil Ridge is now OPEN and has space for accepting students through the School Choice process, which has not been the case for many years.  We are excited to have the accept as many students as we can through this process.
