9th Grade - CMAS

  • The CMAS provides students with the experience of taking a high-stakes computer-based exam, which is something we cannot duplicate in the normal day-to-day classroom.  Many placement tests for colleges and universities are computer-based, and this experience will help them prepare for future tests.

Viewing CMAS Score Reports

9th grade Math and Language Arts scores are now available for students who tested in the Spring of 2025!

How can parents and students view scores?

  • Individual score reports have been uploaded to ParentVUE and StudentVUE (see directions in "Links" to access).
  • Hard copy reports are filed in students' cumulative files on site at FRHS.
  • Parents who wish to pick up a hard copy of the report may reach out to Jenni Ford, counseling secretary, at jford@psdschools.org.

As we strive to provide the best education for our students, it is important to know these tests represent one measure of a student’s academic progress. They are a snapshot in time, with test questions created in collaboration with Colorado teachers to help show students' progress toward Colorado’s grade-level expectations.

Because these tests represent one measure of a student’s progress, the score reports should be used along with classroom grades and teacher feedback to understand student(s)' academic progress more completely.  Please talk with your student(s)' teacher(s) for a broader picture of their achievement.

Additional tools are available to help you understand the purpose of the tests and how to interpret the score reports. Handouts in both English and Spanish include information about the tests, a guide to understanding the CMAS score reports, as well as explainers about the SAT and PSAT. All the resources are found at: http://www.cde.state.co.us/communications/resourcesforparents.  There are additional resources available on the CDE Parent and Family Resources and Fact Sheets websites, including an Understanding ELA and Math Score Reports and Role of State Assessments Fact Sheet for parents.  For detailed information on all CMAS assessment reports, please see the Interpretive Guide to Assessment Reports, a guide for parents and educators.

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Together, we can empower our students to reach their fullest potential.  We look forward to serving your family this year.
