About Me

Greetings, Sabercat family!

It's exciting to be serving this vibrant and exceptional community!

Learning has always been a priority for me. I attended Concordia College for my Bachelor's Degree in Minnesota, obtaining degrees in both K-12 English Education and Speech Communication/Theater Arts. I completed my Master's Degree in Speech Communication/Rhetoric from Colorado State in 2008, and then went on to complete a Ph.D. in Education/Human Resource Studies at CSU as well. In 2018 I ventured back to school to broaden my lens and graduated with an Ed.S. from the University of Northern Colorado in Educational Policy Studies.

As an educator, I have the fortune to have taught in every educational context from elementary to graduate level! I spent a year teaching English in an impoverished high school in Reno, Nevada. From there I moved to Fort Collins, where I have served for the past 22 years at Kruse Elementary, Webber Middle School, and am now happy to be part of the administration team at Fossil Ridge High School! Besides teaching in Reno and PSD, I have also served the University of Nevada-Reno, Front Range Community College, Minnesota State University, and currently teach courses in pedagogy, educational philosophy, and communication studies as an adjunct professor at Colorado State University.

I believe learning is co-creative, relationship-oriented, and should be culturally responsive.  It is rewarding to build long-term relationships with students and their families and to work with like-minded colleagues who care about serving others. We make our communities great through our partnership in public education!

Outside of school, I am passionate about fitness and teach multiple group fitness classes each week at Raintree Athletic Club. Beyond this, international travel fuels my soul.  Married to a British man, I live interesting cultural experiences daily, and I have traveled for pleasure, humanitarian work, and academic work on behalf of CSU/PSD to over 80 countries!

At the end of the day, my philosophy of education is simple: we are blessed to be a part of a co-creative learning environment designed to encourage growth as learners and as people! I hope to be a school leader who facilitates considered thinking, professional accountability, intellectual curiosity, high expectations, and space for expression of the authentic self. I promote and demonstrate positivity, civility, involvement, and community.

I look forward to meeting you!
