Orchestra

Welcome to the Fossil Ridge High School Orchestra Program and the Fossil Ridge High School Music Theory Program! Whether you are here as a student, a parent, or a curious visitor, I'm glad you stopped by and am sure there is a place in orchestra and music theory for YOU!

Orchestra is an important part of a well-rounded high school experience for students…but it is not the only activity that students are involved in during their 4 years at Fossil Ridge.  Most students also play sports and entertain many extra-curricular interests outside of the orchestra rehearsal space.  Thus, we do not schedule evening rehearsals or meet outside of our class time to allow students the opportunity to participate in all of the facets of an exciting high school experience.

Fossil Ridge Orchestra is where student success meets a safe place! Relationship drives all of our work. Student connections, awareness of the life-changing power of music, and having lots of fun are all at the core of what we do. Passion, not perfection. Friendships, not fiefdoms. Hard work. Teamwork. These are what we are all about in FRHS Orchestra. Students are pushed to risk to their maximum musical potential.  For some, that may be the rigors of a post-high school music performance major in college.  For others, it may the fostering of a casual, but life-long, love of music.  Whatever the drive, students in the Fossil Ridge Orchestra program find comfort, fun, friendships, and great music all converge for 90 minutes each day!

During a normal academic year, we present 4 evening concerts (one per quarter) as well as perform in large group festivals and for various events in and around our community.
