About Me

Hi there! My name is Lauren Grande and I am a Language Arts teacher fortunate enough to be a part of the Fossil Family. My teaching philosophy is people centered thus, in and outside of my classroom, I strive to provide students and colleagues with opportunities to explore themselves and the world in which we navigate in ways that adhere to their learning styles and interests. I believe that by having access to education and community based practices, students may become the best versions of themselves for the path they choose to pursue beyond secondary education. I was born in Longmont, Colorado thus getting outside and getting moving is very important to me. My favorite place to be is hiking or snowshoeing, enjoying the views that Colorado has to offer. My other hobbies include golfing or trail running whenever I get the chance. I obtained a BA in English, Creative Writing from Colorado State University as well as a MA in English Education from Colorado State University. Go Rams!

In my classroom, students can expect to be enriched in a growth mindset environment. I myself try to model this and will provide students with support and encouragement as long as they come ready to learn, grow, explore, and move up, up, and beyond as a community! Students can also expect to be reading and writing in various genres. I plan to include various Young Adult Literature texts and strive to center my pedagogy around identity, historically responsive teaching, and cultivating a passion for reading that extends beyond the classroom. Welcome to our space!
