10th Grade Assessments

  • Sophomores take the PSAT 10, which is normed to other sophomores exclusively.
  • The PSAT 10, PSAT NMSQT, & SAT are very similar in both structure and questioning.
  • Using their results from the PSAT 10, students can access customized guided practice in areas for growth in preparation for the PSAT NMSQT or SAT, utilizing Khan Academy.  See Collegeboard.org for more information about how to take advantage of this excellent free resource.
  • The PSAT 10 provides students with the experience of standardized testing, which cannot be duplicated in the normal day-to-day classroom.  You do not want the first experience of this testing environment when you take your college entrance exam as a Junior.

Viewing P/SAT Score Reports

Testing scores from the Spring testing season are typically available after the first Board of Education Meeting in September of the proceeding academic year.

How can parents and students view scores?

  • Individual score reports have been uploaded to ParentVUE and StudentVUE (see directions in "Links" to access).
  • Hard copy reports are filed in students' cumulative files on site at FRHS.
  • Parents who wish to pick up a hard copy of the report may reach out to Jenni Ford, counseling secretary, at jford@psdschools.org.

Because these tests represent one measure of a student’s progress, the score reports should be used along with classroom grades and teacher feedback to understand student(s)' academic progress more completely.  Please talk with your student(s)' teacher(s) and counselor for a broader picture of their achievement.

Additional tools are available to help you understand the purpose of the P/SAT tests and how to interpret the score reports.  All of the resources are found at: PSAT/NMSQT Understanding Scores for Students and Families

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Together, we can empower our students to reach and demonstrate their fullest potential.  We look forward to serving your family this year.
